REHABILITATION OF THE PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS IN SANATORIUM «LIVADIYA»

The sanatorium treatment (rehabilitation) of 550 patients with DM has been performed in the sanatorium «Livadiya» just after the inpatient treatment, among them there were males — 290 (52,7%) and females — 260 (47,3%). There were 52,5% patients with DM type I, among them 35,5% with first diagnosed disease, DM type 2 — 43,5%, among them 74,4% were on insulin therapy. 73,1% of CD patients had combination with cardiac pathology (IBC, hypertension disease). With underlying complex treatment of all DM patients types I and 2 there was seen decrease of basal and postprandial glycemia. Compensation of diabetes mellitus was reached in 13% of DM type I and 20% of DM type 2. Having various effects on the organism, sanatorium treatment is one of the effective methods of rehabilitation at DM.
